Todd Harris hasn't added a story.
I was humbled when Bike Tours for the Wounded invited me to participate in a Wounded Warrior Tour of Normandy that coincides with the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Little did I know, but learning quickly, about the British sense of humor.
OK, I have climbed radio towers, one of the few volunteering electricians to work on the lighting at ASU stadium, been there done that. All part of the job. I loved heights, never even thought about it. Age does funny things to your mind.
They tell me "we have some things planned whilst you are here...BIG things". Through the grapevine, I find out that my "friends" over the pond want to THROW ME OFF A MOUNTAIN.......Welcome to the UK....Whooosh....See ya on the other side...
The kid in me is saying this is "Way Cool". The old fart side is still trying to remove the seat cushion from the butt pucker I got when they told me about this "adventure". "Just a little (mile long) zip line thingamajig over a rock quarry AND a lake"....so they say. I checked out this Zip World place on the web, says it's the longest and fastest in Europe.
Looks iffy to me at best.
Here's the challenge. Going against the wisdom of the
puckering side, I have agreed to do this IF we can raise over £500 for
their veteran's causes.
Laughing Hysterically and making
reference to the worlds oldest profession, they agreed to create a
donations link to meet the challenge. The way they are laughing, I'm
feeling.like......... I just sold my soul....
I know that BT4TW share my beliefs in that we should support our veterans and their families any way we can. I have seen this every time they bring a group of veterans this way.
I guess if I am going to be thrown off a mountain, it should be for a cause that we all should support and believe in, our veterans. Please Donate
Thank you!!
