On the 16th December, Rebekah went to hospital with stomach pains, she imagined that the problems she had previously had with an ulcer had resurfaced but the truth is, on examination, the doctors found cancerous cells in her stomach.

This in itself is a huge shock to hear, however, we were hopeful that after the removal of Rebekah's stomach she would have a good chance of survival.

Over the course of seven weeks the news has continued to get worse, and the latest is that Rebekah's cancer is not only in her stomach, but spread to her lungs.  The cancer is very aggressive and we now face the possibility of having only 3-6 months left with Rebekah.

The family is distraught, my mother is trying to come to terms with the prospect of losing her youngest child.  My father is trying to come to terms with the prospect of losing his little daughter.  My sister struggles with the prospect of losing her best friend.  I struggle with the thought of it too.

We are doing our best to stay strong for Rebekah, who wants us to make her last days, her best days.  We can't change her illness, we can't make her better. But what I would really like to change, is the distance between her and our youngest brother, Samuel.

Samuel lives in New Zealand with his family and as much as our family would like to fly him over here in a heartbeat, the cost is too much for us all to cover in such a short space of time.

I am asking that if anyone can spare us a little to help make this wish come true then please donate.
