Hazel Killingbeck is just 15 years old and has an amazing ambition to Solo swim The English Channel ! She has a time slot and boat booked for August 2014! Hazel has been an open water swimmer for the past five years, she came first at the British long distance swimming association's champion of champions where she swam a total of over nine miles in Dover harbour. Hazel also is a regular at Uswim who meet at Salford Quays and Boundary water Park. The spring/ summer season of 2013 Hazel swam Windermere  two way solo, and joined up with the caledonian girls to swim the Caledonian Canal as part of a relay team raising money for pancreatic cancer research. Hazel will continue to train over the winter period in the sea at Llanddudno,North  Wales. She would Solo swim in The English Channel tommorrow if she could- but the rules state she must be 16. Roll on August, Eh? Hazel! Meanwhile  Hazel continues her full time studies at school to achieve her expected grades.. I am in awe of Hazels determination and hard work.

So far Hazel has used her own birthday/Christmas/babysitting to pay towards her own training, with a huge amount of help, from her family. Her motivation is to do the Solo English Channel swim as a  sponsored event to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis society - she has a seperate donation site for this- THIS site is a platform to raise money for training costs and fees to enable Hazel achieve her goal .Please feel free to share this link to get as many donations as we can! Anything from £1.00 to whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. IF you know of any business contacts who any donate goods for raffle prizes as part of a fun day then please forward the details via Hazel Killingbeck Channel Swim August 2014 facebook page. THANKYOU xxxx
