We are a volunteer group who look for rescue for dogs and cats from Rutherford County animal shelter, a tiny, impoverished rural shelter in Western North Carolina.

As volunteers some of us go into the shelter to take photos of the animals. We fall in love with many of the wonderful dogs and cats and if there is no rescue and they are facing death, we work hard to raise the money to get them out of the shelter. In that case we then pay their bills till they get rescue. That can take up to close to a year, meanwhile boarding for those without fosters increases $6 each day per dog. We also find out they are heart worm positive, or have parvo, or any number of other health problems.

There are nine dogs in boarding for September, the rest are with fosters: Angel, Ziggy, Bambi, Bryson, Zoey, Cash, Chloe, Paige, all at Nicole's kennel and most recently saved is Nessa along with Goofus and Pumpkin reside with Liza at her kennel.

There are more than 20 such dogs and cats either in boarding or with fosters.  There are two of them that need heart worm treatment, Paige and Chloe.

This is the link to our Homeless Album, dogs and cats that are out of the shelter but have nowhere to go till a rescue or adopter chooses them. We need to raise funds to keep paying their bills til lthey can move on.
