Dear Friends and Family. As you know, Roller Derby has become a huge part of my world. It’s provided an outlet for seeking balance in my life. As a mother of two and a women in the cusp of reaching the age of 40 (I’m 38, if you’ve wondered), I am not ready to walk away from this sport as it’s provided such a wonderful opportunity for me to step out of my shell and exceed in a manner that I never knew I could, mentally and physically.

As you know, I’ve been skating for Prison City Derby Dames, this past 2012 season, and I have played for both the entry-level Pa-Rollee team and our travel team –the Dames.

As this season is about to begin, I recently began prepping my gear (with a simple inventory) and I was saddened to see the condition of my gear that I am about to use as protection the track! It’s seriously dwindling and ready to be retired. The expenses alone for me to skate this season start at about $1,500 and then the additional items that I use on the track add up to approximately $500+.

If your tax season serves you kindly, I ask that you consider a small donation to me, as an intermediate female roller derby skater.

I’ve added the costs of the items that I must purchase, with or without donations. Of course your contributions would be greatly appreciated and I would be willing to wear your advertisement as gratitude on the track (i.e. your business, band, your straight up sexiness etc. on my bootie shorts).

Below are the calculations that I have gathered by researching a number of online SK8 shops.
