Help Tsuki Recover: Surgery, Emergency Hospitalization and Rehabilitation 🖤🤍
My name is Francesca, and I live in Chile. I am asking for help for my beloved rescue cat, Tsuki. She has already undergone surgery, but she is now back in the hospital with an infected surgical wound. I need help paying for her surgery, emergency care and the rehabilitation still ahead of her.
It all started one afternoon when Tsuki had an accident while playing on a clothes drying rack. When I came home from work that night, I noticed she was limping. The next day, I took her to her veterinarian, who referred us to a diagnostic imaging clinic for X-rays.
We waited ten days for the results. Once they arrived, I took her back to her veterinarian, who referred her to an orthopedic specialist.
By then, a large lump had developed around her left knee. The specialist prescribed antibiotics, and the following week he performed a cranial drawer test. He explained that, in addition to a fracture and dislocation of her left knee, Tsuki also had a torn cruciate ligament. She was then referred to another veterinarian for surgery.
Tsuki underwent surgery and was discharged on Saturday, October 10. I brought her home hoping that the hardest part was behind us. I followed her wound-care instructions, cared for her and waited for her to begin healing.
But this morning, just over a week after she came home, I found pus in her surgical wound while preparing to clean it. I took her straight to an emergency veterinary clinic, where she was admitted to the hospital.
Seeing her go through this again has been heartbreaking. After everything she has already endured, all I want is to bring her home safely and give her the care she needs to recover.
Her veterinary expenses so far include approximately:
• X-rays and diagnostic imaging: CLP 600,000
• Cardiology evaluation: CLP 150,000
• Medications: CLP 70,000
• Surgery: CLP 1,000,000
• Current emergency hospitalization: more than CLP 300,000
The total has already exceeded CLP 2,120,000—approximately US$2,150—before adding her upcoming physical rehabilitation and any further care she may need. The cost of her rehabilitation has not yet been confirmed.
All four of my animals—three cats, including Tsuki, and a little dog—are rescues. For more than fifteen years, I have done my best to help animals and give them safety, care and a loving home. Asking for help is difficult, but I have reached a point where I can no longer cover these expenses alone.
These are real bills for surgery she has already received, treatment she needs now and the rehabilitation that will help her recover. I am asking, from the bottom of my heart, for help paying them.
