This family did not ask me to start a fundraiser. I'm thankful they even told me what their latest news is, because they have never asked for help before. They simply shared their story with me because I asked how everyone is doing.
I suffer with a complex condition including tachycardia, which is not so easily fixable in my case. It makes the simplest activities painfully difficult, very different from how they used to be in my past. I'm beyond frustrated when I have to stop doing things that need to be done, and it seems very few if any know what I go through... because it's one of those invisible illnesses. So many experience this unique frustration bearing conditions that people can't see. Imagine a person walking up to a cart, then riding it in Walmart for instance, then getting up and walking to a car. It looks bad and they feel weird so they don't, even though they need to reduce those movements sometimes. The alienation is real. That dizzy spell? It was more than an interruption.
Not all that long ago, I fell into an almost despair, wondering if there truly are people who just care. It seemed I was surrounded by only those wanting to take advantage of vulnerability. I prayed for hope. Out of the blue and for no personal gain, this family helped me. They reminded me that yes, good people DO exist. They have no idea the amount of good they did for my spirit, as well as the practical help they offered me.
I'll never be able to thank them enough for just being good people who care in this confusing world today. God bless them! When I discovered they have to postpone surgery for their son, I felt compelled to try to help find a solution. I know what it feels like to struggle with tachycardia, and the GOOD news in his case, is a somewhat simple surgical procedure will correct the anomaly that causes it. The procedure costs $45,000, of which their insurance covers about 70-75%. This is such great news for Isaiah! That said, they have also faced a layoff and now dealing with mounting bills. They could use a little help right now to pay this copay.
Times are tough for many. They don't want anyone to put themselves in a bad spot to help out. For those who are doing well, please know nobody deserves help more. They have helped many others in the past who needed help because this family is generous, hard-working and cares! I pray they will receive financial blessings soon, so they can reschedule the surgery, and help their son feel normal. Thank you so much for being a part of this for this well-deserving, loving family.
