My name is Ryan Summers and I’m representing the Black family and friends. I’m here today to do anything in my power to help Duane Black, who is in serious need of assistance.

January 23rd, Duane started complaining of weakness in his right side and began to lose motor control. He was immediately taken to the hospital in Effingham, IL, and shortly after, was diagnosed with a burst blood vessel in his brain. Effingham hospital then airlifted Duane to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL where he is currently being held. Duane has been moved from ICU-B to another part of the hospital for recovery and has been relieved of the shunt in his head to relieve pressure, but none of us are confident on the state and level of his recovery. There is still a long journey to overcome.

All donations received go directly to helping pay for Duane’s medical bills, which include the helicopter lift and all steps of his treatment. The money is then securely transferred from me to Mitch Black, Duane’s son, and Cloyd Black, Duane’s brother.

While we care for Duane greatly, there is only so much we can do. We need your help. On behalf of the entire family, I ask for any donation you can supply. If you cannot donate anything, please share this page and help spread awareness of someone who is in deep need.

Duane has been a family friend ever since I can remember, and has always been a supportive and easy going individual. He has a passion for motorcycles, 80’s rock and music, musical instruments, and a great love for his son. We want to keep Duane around as long as possible, and although tomorrow may not be promised, anything we can do to ease his troubles a little more would be fantastic.
