Supporters of Black Lives Matter need to show their support publicly, but lawn signs are hard for individuals to get in small quantities. There is no central office from which to order signs. Sadly, many get vandalized or stolen and can't be replaced.
Our plan to get signs on the street by end of July:
- Crowd-fund $3000 to print 500 signs.
- Make them available in smaller batches for sale at $20/ea through trusted organizations (on consignment) and friend networks (pre-purchased).
- Use the proceeds to make more signs as long as demand holds out.
- Donate all extra funds raised to #BlackLivesMatter Minneapolis.
Black Lives Matter lawn signs are a great way for people of good will to say publicly that they and their families are allied with the BLM movement in demanding change in the application of justice.They help to demonstrate widespread support within our communities, and they foster dialog and communication with neighbors.
These nice-looking double-sided signs, plus wire stand, are produced at a favorable price by MinuteMan Press Uptown, a black-owned, union printing shop. We are cooperating with SURJ-MN (Showing Up for Racial Justice MN), to use their graphics (see image above) and url for the signs.
IMPORTANT: If you or your organization or church would like to distribute/sell a part of this batch of signs, please contact us through this online campaign. We would like to have them available around the Twin Cities in many locations for easy purchase and pick-up. No shipping is expected.
