AND-SCRAWLED THANK YOU CARDHello and welcome to my first (and hopefully last) crowdfunding experience!

I'm raising money for my tuition fee at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in Los Angeles, to which I have already been accepted. The amount I need for the school gives me a headache sometimes, but I won’t let this get in the way of my dream. I believe that the harder you try, the more you will achieve. When it comes to success, there is no elevator that will take you there…you have to take the stairs.

I know that it won’t be a piece of cake to collect the amount of money I need for my further education. So far my family and I have only been able to save up only a small amount of money and we have already tried different options of financial aid. That is why I’m turning to you, for your help!

My story:

My name is Nicole Urbanek and I’m from Vienna, Austria. My parents, however, are from Poland, what gives me the advantage of being raised bilingual. I have created this campaign to ask for your support so that I can fulfill my dream of becoming a professional actress.

I was recently admitted to the very prestigious acting conservatory, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, in Los Angeles. The only obstacle standing in my way is the money. The school’s tuition fee is $30.000 and granting a scholarship ($6,000), the school requires me to pay the rest of the fee ($24,000). I could always count on the moral and financial support of my family, especially my mother’s. Even as a single parent, my mom always managed to make me feel that I wasn’t missing out on anything. But now my mom and I are not able to handle this financial situation on our own. To reach my goal, I need as much help as possible.

I've known I have wanted to act since I was a child but it wasn’t until last year that I was courageous and confident enough to really go for it. Therefore I applied and got accepted to a one-year acting course, to finally gain some experience in this field and obtain some professional education. Now I have absolutely no doubt that acting is something I really enjoy and it is the profession I want to pursue. During my childhood, I got also fascinated with the English/American language and America, so I knew that when it comes to acting, I would like to study it in an English-speaking country, so I can have the best of both worlds. And so I began looking into various drama schools in the US and the UK, whereupon I discovered the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, which was the school that appealed the most to me. So you can imagine that when I found out that I have earned myself a place in the academy, I almost exploded with excitement and happiness. I truly feel I belong at the Academy and it is such a fantastic previlige. It would mean absolutely everything to me to go to L.A. I can't put into words how much I want to go, so I can't let this opportunity slip away. It just means the world to me.

I am aware that the amount I need to cover the tuition costs is a lot, however any single donation, no matter how small or big, will bring me one step closer to make my dream possible. Your contributions will mean everything to me!
