In the early morning hours of April 15, 2021, Eugene Irvin III was nearly killed by Lewisville, Texas Police Officers.  Mr. Irvin had initiated a report with an officer of that department to report the sexual assault of a former police officer's stepdaughter, who had been beaten and raped by her own father. After being explicitly told by the officer taking the report that he was not being detained, Mr. Irvin re-entered his vehicle. At that time, the officer chose to violently assault Mr. Irvin in an unprovoked attack. In recorded statements that are available to the public, Mr. Irvin had been repeatedly threatened with death or imprisonment in the weeks leading up to the incident by both on duty and former officers. Eugene was bullied by these men in an attempt to keep him from reporting the sexual assaults that are so closely connected to elements within the department.

Mr. Irvin's work as an Investigative Journalist and Radio Commentator was the driving force behind the victim of these crimes approaching him for his help. She expressed grave concern related to making the reports herself due to her family's deep ties to the law enforcement community and the prospect of them facing criminal charges.

As the reader and viewer will see, a series of police reports were filed  subsequent to the incident that have since been shown to be grotesquely distorted and full of fabrication. As a result, Mr. Irvin has been charged with the alleged offense of evading arrest in a vehicle and has been in the custody of the Denton County Sheriff's Office for over a year.

All Freedom of Information Act requests we have made to obtain the dash and body camera footage of the initial incident and it's conclusion have been repeatedly denied despite a well publicized transparency statement on the City of Lewisville's website made by the Chief of Police. This illustrates a well known pattern exploited by local agencies in Texas to conceal police misconduct. Authorities must release footage of this nature in virtually every other state in our country and it is illegal not to do so. It is only possible in Texas due to a controversial loophole in legislation signed into law in 2014. Proposed changes about SB 927, relating to a governmental body's response to a request for public information, is still pending.

FUNDRAISER GOAL

The primary goal of this campaign is to raise funds for Eugene to hire the appropriate counsel to properly represent him in court. Due to the liability associated with his case, elements within Denton County, TX have sought to undermine his defense through his court appointed counsel. Mr. Irvin is calling for solidarity between the public and law enforcement community surrounding the issue of child exploitation while asking for our continued prayers.

The emotional toil and trauma that he and his loved ones have experienced in this last year of his incarceration has been overwhelming and they urgently need our help.

FUNDRAISER FOCUS

This campaign is focused on raising community awareness surrounding the ongoing crucial  issues of  child exploitation and public corruption  at their point of intersection. This is where two of the most pivotal and formidable issues we face in our society today meet with our solutions oriented mindset to overcome these problems together. We are here to build a bridge between the public and our law enforcement communities to better over stand the problems and bring child predators to justice. Our primary emphasis is on building positive relationships between the public and law enforcement community while answering key questions that will allow us to better protect our youth. How is it that private citizens with little or no training are becoming increasingly more effective at catching child predators in their own communities than the tactics being employed by our law enforcement communities and their vast publicly funded resources ? How can we work together more cohesively in our current era of technological advancement? As we move forward we will explore a new model taking root that allows us to answer these questions while showing how they relate to the issue of  public corruption and what is being done to address it.

They have continued to expose themselves by the handling of Eugene's case and through his hard work and our dedication to assist him we will prevail against this evil and allow our children to have a safer environment in which to grow as a result.
