Sunshine was saved from the Carson Shelter in March of 2015. She was
over-bred, malnourished and abandoned there by her former humans- who
listed her as 20 YEARS OLD.
With a goofy grin and eager eyes, Sunshine started her new life with
an amazing foster home. We have since learned that she is about 8
years old, her teeth and skin show the horrible conditions she used to
live in. She didnt' know what the furniture was, what toys or treats
or bones are... but that has all changed in two short months and she's
visibly grateful to finally have a family. 
Just this week, Sunshine began acting lethargic, not interested in
her boiled chicken and rice, and running a fever. So we took her
immediately to our veterinary team. Blood-work was unremarkable but
after an unltrasound of her abdomen, we discovered our biggest fear-
Sunshine has cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer that started in her
spleen has metasticized to her other organs, including her lungs, and
is too vast to be removed The only option we have for our girl
Sunshine is to surround her with love and the best medical care
possoble to minimize her suferring and prolong her rescued life.
