Thank you for visiting Sailor's Brew Cafe on Wheels campaign! My name is Devin Richmond and I am the owner of Sailor's Brew Cafe. I have over 15 years of experience working from large corporation coffee companies to small mom and pop shops. I look at my 15 years of experience as training that has led me to becoming an entrepreneur.
For years I have talked about opening my own cafe and finally I'm ready to dive in and turn my passion into reality.
I've created a 5 year business plan that starts with owning a food truck. I want to build customers and relationships through my food truck. It's the best way to get out into the community and share my product with a wide range of people who may not get the opportunity to walk into a Sailor's Brew Cafe building.
By investing in the food truck, you aren't only investing in me, you are investing in a community. It is my long term goal to have the food truck, purchase a building and train other people in doing the same. I envision Sailor's Brew Cafe as not only a fun place that provides amazing products but also a fun place that provides business resources.

In the video, the last frame is the actual school bus I am in the process of purchasing. It costs $400. That money has already been invested. Once I purchase the bus, I need to gut it and retrofit it. Here is a list of items that will be purchased:

I have created a Youtube page where you will be able to follow the progress of the tuck and you will be able to see how the business, your investment works in action. I believe in community and I believe it is vital for all of the investors to participate in the creation!
So, sometimes campaigns don't quite make funding goals, which I understand. Say, I only raise $5,000 over the next few weeks or $500.00. I vow to take each cent raised and put it into the business. Every penny counts and every penny gets me one step closer to having Sailor's Brew Cafe on its wheels.
Maybe you don't have the funds to donate but, you have a table or a sign...Again, every little thing helps and I am open to tangible donations as well.
The Impact
I mentioned briefly that it is my long term goal to teach people how to start a business in the Cafe industry. I have always believed in the importance of giving back to my community and I know there are a lot of like minded people who don't have the resources to get their business off the ground. I want to take my business model and not only teach people how to start a business but invest in their start-up. Individuals will be able to go through a training program by working at the Sailor's brew Cafe location and learn the in's and out's of the business. Once they have a solid business plan, I will invest financially in getting their food truck off the ground.
