Kisa and Cesar are the two cats rescued from the streets of Moscow. They share the similarly sad life-story and were rescued by the same volunteer - a compassionate elderly woman. They both had severe gingivostomatites, suffered from excruciating pain and nearly starved to death. The volunteer spent all that was left of her small state pension on veterinary care. Unfortunately both cats had to have teeth removed, and although their condition has improved and they can eat, they still suffer from reoccuring infections. Both cats tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). They urgently require treatment with Virbagen Omega Feline Interferon.  Virbagen Omega works by stimulating the immune system to attack the virus. It has proven to be especially beneficial for cats with FIV related oral inflammatory disease.

With the treatment cats with FIV can lead normal happy life and are not contagious for humans or dogs. Three courses of 5 simple injections can spare them from months of suffering and a bitter end!

Unfortunately Virbagen Omega is very expensive and is not currently available in Russia. We have volunteers, who would be able to bring the medicine to Moscow on 15th December, but desperately need help with finances. The cost of 15 ampoules required for the treatment comes to £1020. Each ampoule must be used immediately after opening, but is enough to inject 2 or 3 cats with the combined weight of 10kg. Special medication cooling bag is also required for transportation. Please spare a donation this Christmas. Without your help Kisa and Cesar have no chance for a pain-free life!

In the Russian society, where even people with HIV are despised and rejected, middle-aged cats with FIV have no chance at all.

Any funds raised above the goal will be used to treat more rescued FIV and FeLV positive cats in Russia.
