Hello friends,

Well another year has passed and it is time to gear up to help those less fortunate this holiday season.

Every year for the past fifteen years Monk McQueens staff, management & owners have helped 24 families from across the Lower Mainland that are less well-off enjoy the Christmas Dinner that most of us take for granted. Even though Monk McQueens is not around any longer, this year is no different. This great program lives on through the efforts of some of the old staff and our friends at Lift Bar Grill View.

These families could be struggling for any number of reasons, some are single parents, some are new arrivals to Canada, some are dealing with an illness and the parents are unable to work. You name it we have seen it. The program is simple as the family names are provided to us from a contact at the school board and we then collect through donations from the staff, family & friends; everything that a family would need for a traditional Christmas dinner. We include as much as we can, from the turkey to rolls, canned veggies, cookies & treats for the kids and even cooking instructions. Then if there is any cash left over we love to include a gift card for groceries or a toy.

This year we are hoping to have the best year yet and are asking for our awesome friends & contacts if anyone is able to help out with a donation even as little as $5 - $10, it can go a long way. Donations can be made via Pay Pal through our Fundrazr page or if you would be more comfortable a donation of cash or non – perishable food items can be made in person at Lift Bar Grill View.

In addition to a cash donation your time on Christmas Eve to help build and deliver the baskets is always appreciated and for many former Monks staff this has become a Christmas tradition in its own right. If you are able to help we appreciate your donation and hope to see you 10AM at Lift on Christmas Eve to help in spreading some Christmas cheer to those who truly need it.

Thanks in advance & Happy Holidays.
