NoMore HomelessPets Ft Laud hasn't added a story.
When you rescue last call, "death row" dogs, you hope for the best. You hope that the foster offers come through. You hope that the donation offers are real. You hope that adopters come quickly, that the dogs are healthy, and that everybody loves pooches as much as you do. And sometimes it happens that way. Sometimes people's generosity and love brings tears to your eyes and surprises you.
But sometimes, life happens. Dogs are sicker than they were said to be. Another rescue you "pulled" a dog for doesn't come to get them. You're not going to throw your hands in the air and give them back. So you take them on as well. A foster pulls out. Bills escalate. And it seems like you are always asking people for money.
FIVE FOR FIDO WORKS LIKE THIS.
I ask five of my friends to donate $5 to the cause
They donate. Then they ask five of THEIR friends to donate $5 to the cause.
Their five friends donate. And then they as five of THEIR friends to donate $5 to the cause
and so on. and so on. and so on - and we can sleep at night again, one $5 donation at a time.
We have rescued over 150 dogs from death row situations this year. Dogs like Whitney, who was surrendered so emaciated that every bone in her body was visible through her skin. Dogs like Hope, who was abandoned by her original Rescue organzation, and had a giant open burn in the center of her back. Like Danni and Olivia, who had heartworm, like Daisy who had severe separaton anxiety, and like little old man Frodo, who was dumped at the shelter in his senior years...Each and every one of those thanks you from the bottom of their big ol' furry heart
