Avery Kate is 3 years old, and was born with a rare birth defect called EA / Esophageal Atresia = her esophagus was incomplete, which means her mouth was not connected to her stomach, for her to be able to eat! She has been hospitalized a large part of her life with many surgeries, while attempts have been made to connect the unconnected ends of the esophagus, and repair leaks.
She and her mom flew to Boston again in January 2014 after finding yet another leak in her reconnected esophagus, and she underwent yet another surgery attempt, this time to patch another leak, sadly without success. April 2014, she is still in the hospital, now with a sponge in her esophagus waiting for it to heal, undergo another complicated muscle patch, or very possibly require a very major inner position, where part of her intestines will attach her stomach to her mouth, for her to be able to eat. This has been a VERY long hospital stay and is going to be even longer.
I have created this event for any of you who will remember them in your prayers and hopefully be able to take time in your blessed life to make a small donation, or even a card, to help add some sunshine to their day while in the hospital for so long. They have been in the hopsital this time, at least since January 20th... and will likely be there for another month or possibly longer! Any help can mean more than you will ever know! You can help her mother fly home to go see her brother, and her father fly to come see Avery Kate for Easter if they end up still being in the hospital that long, which is possible!

September 2014:

Thursday, Avery Kate had her intestine inner position corrective surgery for her esophageal atresia that had several failed attempts at repair, and will likely be in the hospital recovering for 5 weeks or longer. Please do not feel bad if you can't contribute, but if you can, even a dollar for her momma for food helps! Here is the fundraiser, her email addy for paypal contributions, and her room number for cards, as everything positive and supportive is a huge help at this time, and is greatly appreciated!!!
