My dad, Charles Tackett (50), has been fighting lung cancer for almost a year and a half now. He was doing chemo and he was beating cancer like most wish it could be, we have never been so proud of him for being our solider. We came to find out that the chemo was working wonders for a little while and then we had a cat scan one day and found out it was gone from his lungs but it made a dirastic movement to his brain. The doctors tried their hardest to contain it and they did a good job but it never shrunk. These past few weeks he hasn't been doing great. He dropped down to 105 lbs so they had to stop chemo or it would eat him alive, just until he could gain a little weight back. I came up here to spend a little time with him since he became bed ridden and couldn't do anything, last tuesday, I had to call the ambulance and get him to the hospital, they did a cat scan and found out the cancer has spread from his brain to his kidneys, liver, shoulders, spine, pelvic area, lungs, and lymph nodes and will continue to take him over.. That week in the hospital he got his appetite up and was doing everything a normal person would be doing besides walking and feeding himself. I had to go back to Tennessee for school Monday of this week and I got a call Wednesday morning that he wouldn't make it 48 hours so me and my mom drove up to Ohio to be with him. Currently he is unresponsive and they say he isn't going to make it, they have him on no ivs because he had a collasped lung with fluid constantly filling it, if they would give it to him he would drown in his own fluids. On average a person can not live 14 days without food and water, my dad being down to 98 lbs it won't take long.. It is a horrible waiting game and it tears me apart to have to get arrangements for my fathers funeral at 17 and worry about all the expenses. God has a better plan for him that's beyond this Earth. If there's any way possible that you could donate something towards his funeral that would be greatly appreciated and beyond a blessing for us, if not that's okay, your prayers would mean enough.
