My auxiliary reason for seeking your help through crowd funding is to raise money to solve a personal health challenge. The truth is I need another major surgery to SAVE MY LIFE. In 2006, I went through an extreme life transition after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Fortunately, I won the battle after numerous medical treatments, a major surgery (removing eighteen inches of my colon), and a personal expense of about six figures in medical bills. I believe I am very blessed and I am happy to be alive.

However, seven years later, I have a serious protruding inguinal hernia, progressive nerve damage, and internal bleeding. I have visited emergency hospital facilities many times, but they claim their administrative policy prevents them from providing any medical care unless my hernia is completely chocked off - no circulation - or if my intestines burst from the inside out. Neither choice seems like a reasonable survival solution. 

After a private consultation with a hernia specialist, the surgeon doctor strongly advised and recommended I get an operation as quickly as possible or I will end up losing my life by default. Well I am not a quitter. I will not - stand by - and do nothing with the risk losing my life ahead of schedule!!!

When the doctor looked me in my eyes and made it very clear to me that it is mandatory to get an operation as soon as financially possible to save my life. I decided I will do whatever it takes – legally, ethically, and honestly – to raise the money. I truly believe all I need is a little help from a few good people and I can earn the rest of the money through my consulting business by leveraging my skills, talents, and abilities in the marketplace.

The problem is No Medical Insurance and I do not qualify for government entitlements. I am also not in financial position to pay for my own surgery as I did a few years ago. I refuse to become so poor as to have to depend on the government. And even if I did qualify, that's not the way I roll..., and definitely not the way I intend to play the game of life.

In the job marketplace today, it is extremely challenging for a 59-year-old man with medical complications to compete with young vibrant college graduate students. In the eyes of prospective employers I am a walking “law suit” and too close to full retirement to be considered as a viable candidate for long-term employment.

Basically, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Therefore, I have chosen to rebuild the foundation of my American Dream and continue to work for myself as an entrepreneur at my own pace based on my health condition. I believe I will be blessed in my business to make more than enough money to get my surgery in a timely manner. Somehow I manage to keep my faith strong and a smile on my face. However there comes a time in life where we all can use a little help from our friends.
