Track cyclist, Gea Johnson, a former Olympic bobsledder, and current world record holder in the 500M TT (ages 45-49), at 45, is vying to compete at the masters world track championships in Manchester in October after smashing her own world records this past month at the USA Cycling Elite National Championships. Getting to Manchester, England for a chance at worlds will require thousands of dollars in funding that Johnson hopes to raise before Oct. 6.

Gea has been a top tier athlete for most of her life as she was ranked 2nd to Jackie Joyner-Kersee in the heptathlon for 4 consecutive years, won medals in international weightlifting competitions, and competed in the 2002 Olympics in bobsleigh.

At 45, Gea is still aspiring to be a top world class athlete in track cycling.
