Chenell Young hasn't added a story.
7/23/2014
This is my close friend, Christina from Denver Colorado, with her
little miracle baby, Ava Isabella. A friend of mine for over 17+
years, Christina has been bravely fighting Triple Negative Breast
Cancer for the past 3 years. Beautiful from the inside and out,
Christina has always put on a brave face and remained positive
throughout her ordeal. She's done chemo, radiation, and finally a
mastectomy. Helping support her through these rough times has been her
husband of 5 years, Ernesto Monne, her 22-year-old daughter Alyssa,
and close friends and family.
She was declared cancer-free a few months ago and while taking
an experimental cancer drug discovered she was 7 months pregnant.
(Both Christina and her husband had dreamed of having a child after
winning the battle against her breast cancer; however, they were told
that they would have to seek alternative options as this was not
possible). Yes, Christina and her doctors did not realize that she was
pregnant until after the 7 months as the lingering side-effects and
other medical issues masked her morning sickness and fatigue. A doctor
even mentioned to her after confirming her pregnancy, "If ever
there was a miracle to make someone believe that there is a God, it
surely is this one." Needless to say, she had several weeks to
make minimal arrangements to baby shop via her hospital bed as she was
not released from the hospital until Baby Ava had been delivered. She
ended up having Ava early due to pregnancy complications but was able
to take her home about 20 days after she was born.
Now Christina is fighting for her life again. Her cancer is back
and has spread to her liver. She is considered terminal at the young
age of 38. She could have weeks, months, or years to live depending on
how her cancer responds to the chemo and other treatments.
With your help, the hope is to provide some relief to her
husband, Ernesto Monne, who is spending his daytime hours working to
take care of their medical and all other bills that go along with
daily living and who is spending his evening hours being Mr. Mom to a
less than 2-month-old premie and not to mention be super-husband and
rock to his wife Christina. While the last thing on their minds right
now are medical expenses, (which includes paying a caretaker for Baby
Ava while Dad is at work), it is still a reality that exists.
Once again, many thanks in advance as your generosity not only
helps them financially, but lifts up their spirits, too! And if you
don't have anything to donate, I would ask for you to take a minute of
your day and send out a prayer for her healing!
Acts 20:35
“In everything I showed you that by working hard
in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the
Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Christina lost her 4 year battle with Triple Negative Breast cancer
today at 1:40 pm Mountain Time surrounded by Ava, Alyssa, Ernie, her
mother and loved ones. She is
no longer in pain and her suffering
is over. We are grateful for all the prayers and support we have
received throughout her battle.
