I don’t usually ask for help, but right now I truly need it.
I am a single mom to a 14-year-old boy. His father was killed in Atlanta when my son was only one year old, and since then it has been just the two of us. We’ve struggled financially for most of his life and have had to navigate everything on our own.
I work full-time in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician. I work long hours and long weeks, yet the pay barely covers basic living expenses. Despite always working, my son and I have gone through periods of homelessness.
After a long and difficult road, we were finally able to get into an apartment in Americus, GA. Having a stable place to live has meant everything to us. Unfortunately, rent is coming due again, and I don’t currently have the funds to cover it.
Rent: $600
Utilities: approximately $200
I am doing everything I can to keep us stable and moving forward, but this month I am falling short. Any amount—no matter how small—would make a real difference and help keep a roof over our heads while I continue working to build a better future for my son.
