Nice to meet you! My name is Ema Chlepkova and I'm a 16 year old ski mountaineer and baithlete. I live in Calgary, Canada. I'm on the U20 Canadian National Biathlon Team and the National Ski Mountaineering Team. I train biathlon with the Foothills Nordic Ski Club.

My 2018/19 biathlon race season was splendid! The highlight for me was the 2019 Canadian Biathlon Championships in Whistler, BC. I finished twice with a bronze medal and one second place in the relay. These race results qualified me for the U20 National Development Team. I'm very excited about that because that means I can attend the U20 camps organized by Biathlon Canada.

This summer one of the camps is happening in Quebec City/Jericho, US starting August 8-18, 2019. This camp is unique because there are two races happening in Quebec and another two in Jericho. It would be a really great experience allowing me to race with the US Junior Biathlon Team and further improve my race skills. I'll gain a lot of great knowledge that will move me another step forward in my biathlon career. 

As a young athlete, I have a restricted budget and without your donations helping me to cover the costs of this camp I will not be able to attend it. I would appreciate any support I get!

The first Biathlon Canada Camp I went to was this May. It was an amazing six days of skiing, running and roller skiing. What made it truly unforgettable for me was the time I spent with the females at the camp. We had "girls talks" where we discussed topics that affect us as being females in a male dominated sport. It was very inspiring to bond with the girls and make new long lasting friendships. 

At the camp in May, we focused on improving our ski technique. My ski sessions with Julia Ransom (retired Canadian National Biathlete) improved my skate skiing skills tremendously. By the end of the camp I received a lot of great feedback and now I know what I have to work on before the next race season.
