In the beginning, there was Goatrance.
The pioneers of the deeply psychedelic and energetic sound of Goa, and one of the most iconic artists to define this genre is undoubtedly Etnica/Pleiadians. While they certainly was not pioneers in a sense that they created the genre - their sound is Unique and considered by many - the very best Goatrance has to offer.
Draeke and DAT Records took it upon himself to search deep in the hidden archives of Ibiza - to discover previously unheard tracks from this artist. This was of course immensly appreciated by the Psytrance community and we all cheered and truly could not wait to hear the treasures Draeke had collected.
Skip forward a few years and there is no doubt that his tireless efforts in restoring old DAT tapes, finding proper engineers to do so - has yielded incredible results, and the latest releases from this artist containing live sets, unreleased tracks, remastered tracks, etc - is evidence enough to support the idea that DAT Records are truly legendary.
I know that Draeke has put in ALOT of man hours, money, and energy - making all this happen. And while a very good way to support him is obviously to buy the albums - I think a Medal is in order.
Just as a small token of true appreciation for all his hard work - for had it not been for him - these legendary albums had not seen the light of day - and the old dat tapes might have never been restored, as it just as easily could have just stayed hidden in the artists archive - never to be heard again.
