4 Years running

Hi I am Julie. A single mom to two amazing children. My daughter is 17 and my son just turned 16. My son has severe autism and is non verbal. Five years ago my husband (now ex husband) left because he could not handle having a special needs child. My son is amazing! He also is in the midst of puberty and trust me when I tell you that autism and puberty are not a good combination. About six months ago Jason became more aggressive and violent and started breaking windows, putting holes in walls, throwing whatever he could get his hands on at me, ripping my shirts off and literally ripping handfuls of hair out of my head. Jason is my son- I love him unconditionally and even at those darkest times, I will not give up on him. I have had two well trained independent service providers in my home for the last three months and they act kind of like body guards because they protect me. They also are teaching my son why he cannot attack me amongst other things. The have been funded through a group in my county. Unfortunately I found out today that there is no more funding available after October 31. I am on an emergency list to receiver a waiver that would pay for these services but that may not happen for several months. I want my son home where he belongs but it is not safe without the help that I have been receiving after I get home from work. The cost is about $650-$700 per week which includes him going to a group home on the weekends. This allows me to not only work on the weekends but to also have some quality time with my daughter. It also allows her to have friends over and have a sense of normalcy as she will be leaving for college next fall. I am looking for this to be short term-probably 2-3 months and am praying the waiver comes through before that time. It's tough to ask for this money but my son is so worth it!!  Thank you so much for reading this very personal information and I appreciate any help!
