It was a novel that drew praise from the likes of NBA superstar Chris Webber, award-winning author Tracey Price-Thompson and many others. We are now at that toughest part of the journey; raising funds to get this film shot, in the can and put in front of movie fans. WHETHER IT'S $1 OR $1000, ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

STORY SYNOPSIS:

Azùcar is a multi-cultural drama/comedy about a group of friends whose tangled interrelationships, explosive secrets, and sexual infidelities could destroy their precious bond. At the center of the story is an aspiring film actress, Nikki “Azùcar” Moreno who is struggling with her decision to move to L.A. It won't be easy saying goodbye to her hometown -- particularly her cousin Rosie who is beset by her own problems: she is wildly attracted to the pretty and proper Crystal as well as the dashing Alejandro. Their other friend Jasmine is deeply in love with her boyfriend Dante, but he has an addiction that could lead to deadly consequences. Nikki and Rosie’s roommate Chico is coming to terms with a one night stand whose outcome could affect him forever. Amidst tragedy, conquering her own self-doubts and the unraveling of friendships, Nikki must make what could be the most important decision of her life.

Dominican Republic born Dahiana Torres moved to the United States when she was seven years old. Residing in the small state of Rhode Island, she graduated from Central High School in Providence. She is a well-rounded artist, gaining her BA in mass media communications & AA in Theatre Arts. Her journey began at Dean College in where she did behind the scene & on stage/talent work. After graduation she headed for intense acting courses at Emerson College, and expanding her talents to TV production at Rhode Island College. Her internship with the Public Broadcasting System has enabled her to get the studio, behind the scene, experience. Her talents and her acting bug have put her on a path towards theatre productions, movies, commercials, live events, & modeling. Dahiana can currently be seen in Pain Love & Passion; a film she not only stars in but wrote, produced and directed.

Born in Spain, the beautiful and multi-talented Liana Mendoza is making her mark on film, television and music. Liana has been featured on the Cinemax production of Zane’s Sex Chronicles, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dennis Quaid, ER, In the Flow with Affion Crockett, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bones, Undercovers and a host of other appearances. Musically her latest project is hit song“We Run the Night” with artist Sleepy Brown.

The Desert Storm veteran Roberto Sanchez entered into modeling and acting after leaving the service. After doing countless runway shows, commercials and print ads, Mr. Sanchez was chosen by John Singleton for a role in the hit motion picture 2 Fast 2 Furious. Since then he’s appeared in She Spies, The District, Cold Case, Arrested Development, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, Heroes, Bones, Breakout Kings, Days of our Lives, The Closer, Without a Trace, Borderline Coyotes, Illegal, etc. Roberto was recently listed as one of the top ten sexiest Cuban actors by IMDB.com.

Ciera Payton is an award-nominated and theatrically trained actress who is poised for big screen stardom. A native of New Orleans, Ciera lost her home, possessions and her grandmother in the aftermath of Katrina. Not to be deterred by tragedy, this talented thespian instead focused even more on her craft and education. All her hard work paid off as she was rewarded with her first feature film role with Steven Seagal in Flight of Fury. This was followed up with numerous roles in projects such as the Lifetime film Midnight Bayou, The Closer, The Mentalist, Torchwood, Californication, Body of Proof, Madea Goes to Jail, Days of Our Lives, USA Network’s Common Law, an upcoming Diablo Cody (Juno) film that is as yet untitled, Graceland and Spike Lee's Old Boy. Currently, Ciera is starring in her very own one-woman show entitled Michael’s Daughter—a play she wrote and created that chronicles the relationship between her and her incarcerated father.

Christian released his debut album "Day By Day" including the ballad, "I Know" Fall of 2006. He is currently writing for his second album due to be released in 2008, he is also writing for other artists as well. Then in January 2007, Christian toured with the stage play, "What's Done In the Dark", A Tyler Perry's production, replacing Allen Payne's role as Dr. Harris. Others starring in the play along with Keyes are David and Tamela Mann (Mr. Brown and Cora), Terrell Carter and D'Atra Hicks. He was featured in Ashanti’s "The Way That I Love U" video, Ledisi’s In the Morning and Keri Hilson “Energy’ video. Former Michigander Venida Evans is a veteran actress of film, television and stage. She’s appeared on New York Undercover, Third Watch, Law and Order, as well as films such as the Academy Award-winning Transamerica, Brown Sugar and Neil Simon’s Only When I Laugh. She can currently been seen as “The Muse” in the IKEA ad campaign and in the new HBO hit series Treme.

Jo Mani was born in Madras, India as Jyothi Mani Earl. The multi-talented comedienne/actress has starred in The Chronicles of the Order: Xander's Path (2011), The Refuge(2011) and My Name Is Karma (2014), The Fixer, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Pastor Jones, and He Who Finds a Wife 2.
