In every town there seems to be kitties left uncared for.I'd call it a "cat problem" but it's really more of a "person problem".

Nelsonville is not exempt from this. Behind my shop and others, several homeless cats are struggling to make it through one of the worst winters ever. A few of them are feral but most are drop offs & left behinds.
I've been feeding them with the help of others. I've been worrying about them and if they are able to get enough calories to stay warm. Are they getting enough water to keep from being dehydrated ?
With the help of some artists at Starbrick Cooperative Gallery I had exactly $100 saved to start trapping and fixing the kitties. My hopes were that some may be able to be rehabilitated and live in loving FUREVER homes.
I scheduled an appointment for this past Tuesday morning at Miliron H Farms clinic for "TESTICLE TUESDAY".
My son set the first trap, we were hoping to catch a boy. Monday evening with salmon as the bait. We caught our first cat in seconds.
Tuesday Morning a scared sweet kitty rode in my car in a trap headed to be "fixed". I had a hunch this kitty could be rehabilitated so I asked for shots, testing for feline leukemia, & flea meds.

The nice vet called Tuesday afternoon & announced "its's a boy!". I picked him up & brought him back to the bath tub at The Plaid Butterfly. After several hours we came back to check on him, let him out of cage, made him a bed left water etc.

Wednesday morning I came in to check on him & found a roll of paper towels shredded in bathroom. I knew this was a good sign. My building manager here on the square was his first visitor. She crawled in bathroom 7 put her hand out the this sweet kitty has been getting & giving affection for over 24 hours now.

Soon he will be available for adoption.
