Gina Brown hasn't added a story.
Bobbie is an 8 year old cat. His owner Vickie has a tracheotomy and occasional seizures. Bobbie has the unique ability to sense when Vickie is going to have a seizure and will come and lay on her lap just minutes before it happens.
On Tuesday, October 22nd, Vickie was rushed to the hospital with a severe respiratory infection. When Vickie goes to the hospital her father tends to her animals, including Bobbie the cat. That night her father reported that Bobbie was nowhere to be found. The family grew very worried as Bobbie never left the property. He was always close by. On Saturday morning her father again went to her house to check on the animals. While he was outside Bobbie crawled out of the woods and collapsed at his feet. His face was swollen and torn up to the point he was almost unrecognizable. Her father quickly swooped up Bobbie, loaded him in his car and brought him to the local vet clinic. Bobbie was considered in critical condition and through IV fluids and strong antibiotics fought for his life. We think he may have been looking for Vickie as she had a seizure while in the ambulance enroute to the hospital.
The vet said it looked like he may have been attacked by an animal due to the serious infections he had. Today Bobbie is still in the vet hospital and Vickie is now home recovering from her lung infection. The vet says they are hopeful that Bobbie will recover but will need several surgeries to ‘put his face back together’. There is a lot of necrotic tissue that must be debried and he’ll need several skin grafts on his face.
Vickie has worked hard all of her life. Before her emergency tracheotomy 4 years ago she used to care for people with special needs. Now she must depend on other people for her needs, including her cat Bobbie.
You see Bobbie isn’t just another cat. Not only can he detect Vickie’s seizures before they happen, he’s a companion animal to her son Kameryn. Kameryn is a severe asthmatic with many allergies. Kameryn’s allergies are so severe he cannot attend school and must be tutored at home and visits his classmates through Skype. He is allergic to all other cats, except Bobbie, for some odd reason.
Having a trach has left Vickie unable to work. She now receives disability which barely pays the bills.
Please help Vickie and Kameryn pay for Bobbie’s vet bills so he can get the surgeries he needs to survive and go back to his family that needs him very much. Vickie has dedicated her life to helping people in need, now she needs your help.
