The Kristi Visocky Memorial Foundation, a.k.a. Kristi’s Fund, was created in memory of Kristi Visocky who was killed in an auto accident in May of 2003 at the age of 21. Determined to keep alive the spirit and compassion of a young woman who was a strong champion of the underdog and supporter of troubled youth, Kristi’s Fund was set up to provide scholarships and assistance to youth in the Northern Colorado.

Over the years the Kristi Visocky Memorial Foundation has been supported by an amazing community of friends and family. Through that generous support wonderful beginnings have sprouted from the ashes of grief. Kristi’s Fund has awarded $200,000 in scholarships to area young women, many of them single moms. Together we helped provide Thanksgiving dinner for those less fortunate, and brightened the holidays for many through Kristi’s Wish.

This year, as a natural extension of our mission, we are raising funds to build a home that will permanently change the life of a Fort Collins family. We invite you to be part of our community, this time to build a house for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat offers a hand up (not out) to families struggling to find a home of their own. The end result is simple, decent, affordable, energy efficient and healthy homes that don’t just provide shelter—they change people’s lives and end the cycle of poverty. We are excited to be a part of their vision

Our plan is to break ground on the house in spring 2014 so that our Habitat family can be in the house before school begins in the fall. Will you help make The House that Kristi Built a reality?
