My best friend, faithful companion and little love Augie doggie was a rescue 6 years ago. He in turn rescued me! He is my chihuahua who suddenly, May 4, 2013, was paralyzed in both rear legs. The veterinarian has diagnosed it as being caused by a spinal disk compression/herniation from jumping off a couch or bed. The surgery will cost at least $5000 plus follow-up care. I am disabled and on a fixed income. He still has his happy, wiggle, waggle tail and it breaks my heart to see him dragging himself to urinate and defecate. With surgery the Dr. is fairly confident that he can be restored to full mobility because he still has feeling in his rear paws, but as the Dr. explained to me there is a small window of opportunity before it can become permanent. I and my Augie desperately need your help, no matter how small or large. Prayers are requested as well!
