On October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy broke the hearts of many people across the east coast, including here in my hometown of Sayreville, NJ. We have all felt the effects of Sandy’s aftermath, from days without power in the dark to endless lines at the gas stations, but nothing compares to waking up one day and losing everything! As a teacher, it breaks my heart to know that many children in my own town can be sitting home in the dark cold and even worse some who have no home at all. I am asking for the help of all my family and friends to help the children in my community with cash donations that can directly help their families until their homes are rebuilt, which will take some time. Please pass this along to all of your family and friends, at school and at work, wherever you may live. Remember any effort is a step in bringing hope back into the hearts of many who have lost so much!
