Nikki Foster hasn't added a story.

As some of you might know, my little sister Kortni is having a liver transplant. I am calling on my friends to help. She has the procedure covered, but her mom will need to live in San Francisco for about a month while she recovers, and is on a very strict budget as she and her husband are retired. I have been able to secure a room at an amazing rate, but it is still going to be around $2,500 once all is said and done. Any little bit will help, so please donate what you can. Also, please pass on to your friends as well. You know I am not usually one to ask for help, but at this point, I am begging. She is an amazing girl, and they are an amazing family. Here is her story from her website: www.preventtransplant.bravehost.com Welcome to my website! My name is Kortni and I created this website to share my journey of healing. I am reversing Cirrhosis of the Liver from Autoimmune Hepatitis (as well as chronic Lyme disease, adrenal fatigue and celiac disease). Let me tell you the whole story… In March 2007 I went to the Emergency Room with stomach/side pain and internal bleeding. I wasn’t worried because trips to the ER for me were the norm growing up, I always seemed to be sick but never knew why. This time was different though. They admitted me and put me on all kinds of drugs, I barely remember what all happened. I do remember a nurse coming in and saying something about my Cirrhosis. I was like… Cirrhosis?! The doctors didn’t tell me I have Cirrhosis, what are you talking about! Big oops on her part. They came in and told me that I had Cirrhosis of the Liver with Portal Hypertension (high blood pressure in the veins in my organs because it can’t flow through my rock hard liver), causing Ascites (fluid surrounding the liver), Esophageal Varices (varicose veins in the esophagus), and an enlarged Spleen. Apparently my internal bleeding was from a varices in my esophagus that had burst. At that point I made up my mind that it was ok, my God is way bigger than any disease and He created me to overcome. From that point on I was poked and prodded, trying to figure out the cause (I’ve never done drugs and only drank only for a few months in college). A few months after my hospital stay they concluded that I have Autoimmune Hepatitis. So I started my journey, trying everything, and spending thousands of hours researching. I flew to New Mexico and stayed for a week getting IV treatments of Alpha Lipioc Acid which actually have a 95% cure rate for Hepatitis C (which I do not have) so it didn’t help much. I went to a healing center and drank wheat grass and watermelon rind for a week. That was no fun either. I went to a bunch of different natural, holistic doctors, each promising their “cure” was it. I will admit, it can be exhausting trying to stay positive while constantly going to the doctor, getting IV’s, blood drawn, liver biopsy, ER trips, all that fun stuff… About a year ago my mom started looking into something new. We have a friend, Denise, whose daughter has Autoimmune hepatitis. We were able to give them hope by sharing my story and some things she could do naturally (instead of all the pharmaceutical steroids she was on). Courtney (the daughter with AIH) now has all normal lab results and is doing amazing by using glyconutrients and getting rid of her autoimmunity triggers which were food allergies. Anyways, Denise begged my mom to get me tested for Lyme disease. In doing a lot of research my mom discovered that Lyme disease is very commonly misdiagnosed as other diseases AND after the initial first 2 weeks after a tick bite, it can only be detected using a very specialized test. A test that insurance companies don’t use and most doctor’s don’t even know how common Lyme disease is (resulting in common misdiagnosis). I found a Lyme Literate MD who had me tested and the results came back as positive along with a few co-infections as well. It was another big shock. I've spent the last 2 years trying to treat both the Lyme and Cirrhosis with herbs and vitamins etc, etc. After spending every last penny and then some, both my parents and I have been left broke and I'm about the same healthwise. That is up until last month. It has been the best and worst time of my sickness. It's been the worst because I found out I have celiac disease and adrenal fatigue and I've been in bed all day, every day. I haven't seen a doctor in 6 months due to finances. It's been the best month because God revealed to me what I've been missing the last 4 years. He has showed me that I can't just take some pills (and by some I mean about 70/day) and make it all go away. I have to remove the triggers that caused my body to turn on itself (see autoimmune triggers in my links). These include pulling very toxic root canal teeth, fixing leaky gut (food allergies) that is a common cause of autoimmunity (through the GAPS diet), killing bacterial infections (lyme and others), boosting my immune system, heavy metal detoxification (
