Help My Family in Venezuela Rebuild Their Health and Stability
My family and I are asking for help for three people we love deeply who are currently living in Valencia, Venezuela: my 57-year-old mother, my 23-year-old sister, and my 11-year-old niece.
For years, my older sister and I have supported them from abroad. My sister lives and works in Spain, while I live and work in Argentina. Together, we currently send approximately USD 350 every month, and we will continue doing so.
Unfortunately, our support is no longer enough to cover their basic needs while also addressing important health expenses and giving them an opportunity to become more financially independent.
Why we are asking for help
My mother is 57 and has hypertension and a thyroid condition. My 23-year-old sister has asthma and also needs proper medical follow-up.
My 11-year-old niece lives with them while her mother—my older sister—works in Spain and continues trying to build the financial stability needed to reunite with her daughter. My niece has ADHD and is currently receiving treatment for a parasitic infection.
Adequate nutrition, medical examinations, treatment and medications have become increasingly difficult for our family to cover alongside everyday living expenses.
We don't want this campaign to simply pay their bills. We want it to help change their situation.
Our goal is to raise approximately USD 10,000 to provide immediate stability while helping them develop their own sources of income.
We plan to use the funds in four main areas:
• USD 3,000 — Food and essential living expenses. This will supplement the USD 350 that my sister and I already contribute every month.
• USD 2,000 — Medical care. Medical examinations, consultations, treatments and necessary medications.
• USD 4,000 — Building sources of income. Our family already has an oven and basic baking equipment. We want to help them start a small home-based business selling cake portions, quesillo, cupcakes, cakes made to order and traditional Venezuelan chicha. Part of this amount may also be used to establish a small manicure service. Rather than spending the entire amount immediately, funds will be invested progressively as the businesses begin generating sales.
• USD 1,000 — Emergency reserve. Reserved primarily for unexpected medical or essential family expenses.
Our goal is independence, not permanent assistance
My sister and I will continue contributing approximately USD 350 each month. We are not asking donors to replace the support we already provide.
We are asking for help to do something that is currently beyond what we can accomplish alone: address their immediate health and nutritional needs while giving them the tools and working capital to begin generating their own income.
As the campaign progresses, we intend to share updates showing how the funds are being used—including the development of the small businesses—while protecting our family's privacy, particularly that of an 11-year-old child.
I know USD 15,000 is a significant amount to ask for. Every contribution, regardless of its size, brings us closer to giving three members of our family greater health, stability and an opportunity to build something of their own.
