I am turning to you today with a desperate cry for help. Since February 2020, I have been living in extremely precarious conditions due to property damage that I have been unable to resolve on my own . Part of my roof collapsed, was poorly repaired, and today, both my home and my safety are in grave danger .

The Timeline of a Nightmare

• February 2020: A section of my roof collapses .

• The first lockdown: I hire a roofing contractor ("ARC TOITURE"), who begins dismantling the roof... right at the exact moment the COVID-19 lockdown halts everything . Tarps are installed, but they tear during a heavy Mediterranean rainstorm, flooding two levels of my home .

• Administrative hurdles: The health crisis delays expert assessments . The roof is eventually repaired, but major structural flaws emerge—and the company goes out of business in the meantime .

• Collateral damage: Broken tiles, a blown-off roof panel, damage to the neighboring roof, and an excessive weight of rubble stored on the attic floor, threatening to cause a total collapse .

A Life-Threatening Emergency

Experts and contractors who came out to provide estimates are firm: this section of the roof is at risk of collapsing in the short or medium term . This poses a dramatic threat to my home, as well as a potential domino effect on neighboring houses .

For years, I have fought in vain to invoke the contractor's ten-year structural guarantee (garantie décennale): insurance companies refuse any compensation, citing wear and tear or force majeure related to COVID .

Recently, the masonry props that had been supporting my bedroom false ceiling for years had to be removed (in February 2026), causing the ceiling to completely cave in and sending tons of debris crashing into the bedroom . Unable to use these rooms anymore, I have been living crammed into my living room with all my belongings since 2020 .

Faced with this dead end, I must act immediately to completely rebuild the roof and secure the premises . The costs are astronomical and impossible for me to shoulder alone .
