My name is Damian, I am 24 years old, and I need your help to pivot my life toward my lifelong passion: art.
I have been drawing since I was 13. While I always loved art, I originally went to a technical mechanical high school to learn a trade. Unfortunately, a severe accident changed the course of my life forever.
A few years ago, I fell over the handlebars of my bike on a country road, landing heavily on a bricks, that somone had to throw away on the middle of the road covered with grass. My arm bent completely backward. At the emergency room, doctors misdiagnosed it as a simple contusion. A month later, an orthopedist revealed the devastating truth: the radial head in my elbow had fractured, moved to different place and fused completely wrong.
Because this happened during the COVID-19 pandemic, getting help was an absolute nightmare. I spent nearly two years traveling from hospital to hospital. Several times, surgeries were scheduled, only to be canceled at the last minute because the bone was too deformed and doctors in the end decided they don't want to attempt the surgery as it was such an unusuall case. Finally, after waiting another year for a donor bone (allograft), I underwent a massive 20,000 PLN (Well to be more specyfic it was 10 000, but couple days after we got bill for things that been used to durring surgery, additional costs wich was over 4000, and later on for about half year 2 times a week a rehabilitation sessions for about 200 each, later on just one a week, so it will come up to more than 20 000 cost overall) (€5,000) surgery and over six months of intense physical therapy just to regain basic movement in an arm that had been frozen for three years.
While the surgery saved my arm, the permanent damage means I can no longer do heavy physical labor.
But I refuse to let this injury stop me. I want to channel my love for drawing into a career as a tattoo artist. For a tattoo apprenticeship, I need to have The tablet I will be able to bring to tattoo studio and out of it, that can work stand alone and does not require a actuall PC to connect it into as the xp pen v2 deco 01 that i been using to this point (mostly with clip stuido paint and paint tool sai 2 porgrams), and industry standard for this is an iPad and Procreate Program. (Other drawing tablets that can work standalone without PC are even more expensive especially wacom one, XP pen have only 1 model like this, and huions prices won't help here saddly neither)
Because of my physical limitations and the financial toll of my recovery, I cannot afford this equipment on my own. I first tried to find a job, but unfortunately without success. From the beginning of the year I took courses, first Google IT support specialist, then English C1 certificate from Federica University of Naples Federico II. In June I finished Google AI specialist. Still without success in finding a job. Since I couldn't find a job in IT, or one related to computer graphics, or any simple job like one at Starbucks, I decided that I had to try to start a fundraiser and go in the direction of tattoos. For this however I will need to buy:

An iPad Air (5-7gen) 2 649 PLN (Might find cheaper a used one, but i gave a price of new one, as the 2nd hand thing i could spot right now, could be just bought and not avaible any longer once i will gather the money)

The price depends on the complexity of the entire project. in this style you can get both dark fantasy and something more ordinary. painted mainly with ink, pen, and depending on the needs of special brushes, can be used as well. Don't be afraid to send a reference as well, the more information you will give me, the better resoults will be.
A full-color portrait with a simple background, or a more complex one that doesn't have too much things on it, can only be made in acrylic or only oil paints at your request, without such a request, I have complete freedom in the style and technique used when creating a given portrait.
The amount depends heavily on the artstyle, the number of details,
the number of characters on the art, and how detailed the design
should be. Color and paint like oil or acrylic etc... will certainly
be more expensive, while black and white ink and charcoal will
certainly be cheaper.
I tried to set up a redbubble store, but there are some problems
with Polish phone numbers, and from what I saw online, others are
having the same problems, so if anyone is interested, I can set up an
account on another website that makes T-shirts with prints so that
they can conveniently order a design and order a T-shirt.
The painting is fully in color. If you wish, I will paint it in oil or acrylic paints only; I do not use water-based paints. If you do not have any specyfic wishes, I can create a painting in full color in any format I want, using techniques of my choice. The painting can be in full color, meaning a high-quality background and from waist up character or characters on it. The background can also be done in a simpler format for a lower donation.
