Upport Leia’s Recovery from Blood Cancer
This is a call to raise funds in support of Leia in her fight against cancer.
I created this fundraising campaign for Leia do
Prado, with her permission.
She was recently diagnosed
with blood cancer, specifically a malignant neoplasm.
Leia has
been one of my closest friends for more than 33 years, and I want to
do everything within my reach to support her during this difficult
time, so she can heal and fully recover.
I know that Leia’s friends, family, and community will stand by her unconditionally, and that she will receive all the care she needs throughout this journey.
At the moment, Leia is working with her healthcare professionals
to build a treatment plan.
It is likely that she will begin
chemotherapy soon, with surgery planned for April.

be posted on this page for those who would like to follow her
recovery process.
Leia is a single mother and works as a hairdresser.
She
also practices sports — road running and cycling — and is renovating
her home in Brazil, where she lives with her children. The house has
been affected by mold and mildew (see the video).
We need Leia
to recover so she can continue being an essential part of our
community and live a long, fulfilling life.
Right now, money is extremely tight, leaving no room in her monthly budget for the high costs associated with cancer treatment.
This campaign aims to raise enough funds for Leia to cover:
• Healthy organic food, supplements and complementary
medicines
• Time away from work to focus on healing after
chemotherapy or surgery
• Access to oncology care not covered
by the public health system
