Hi, my name is Jose, and I’m reaching out with an open heart and deep humility.

A year ago, my father went through two life-threatening medical emergencies. As his son, I did everything I could to keep him alive — covering hospital stays, treatments, medications, and follow-up care. By the grace of God, he is healthy today.

But in the process, I exhausted all my savings and took on multiple loans, credit card debts, and financing to cover the costs. I didn’t hesitate — I would do it again in a heartbeat — but now, I’m left carrying a financial burden that is overwhelming.

I work full-time as a systems engineer in Honduras. I earn a decent income for my country, live with my retired parents to support them, and have no children or major expenses. Still, my monthly debt payments exceed $1,800 USD, while my income is around $2,100. I’m barely getting by, and I fear I’m reaching a breaking point.

One important detail I want to share: although I have health insurance, it does not cover my parents due to their age. In Honduras, most private insurance policies exclude coverage for the elderly, leaving me with no institutional support. I had no choice but to take on the full cost myself.

I never imagined turning to crowdfunding, but I believe that vulnerability is not weakness. This is not for luxury or irresponsibility — it’s simply a plea for a chance to breathe again, to recover after doing what I had to do for someone I love.
