On Wednesday, April 10th, our comrade and People’s Budget Bakersfield founding member, Riddhi S. Patel (they/them) was unjustly arrested for a moment of righteous indignation during a public comment at a City Council Meeting. In the aftermath, Riddhi has faced significant challenges, including the termination of their employment by CRPE, the organization they dedicated themselves to for the last four years.

CRPE's decision to distance itself from Riddhi has left them in a vulnerable position, facing financial instability during an already tumultuous time. As a community, we are calling for mutual aid support to help Riddhi cover their immediate expenses as they navigate this difficult time. 

Riddhi is a beacon of light in our community, known for their infectious laughter and unwavering passion for organizing marginalized communities on the path to liberation. They have been a steadfast pillar of support, extending a helping hand to countless families during the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent tragedies exacerbated by government neglect.

Now, it is our turn to rally around Riddhi in their time of need. Let us demonstrate the power of solidarity and mutual aid by offering our support to this beloved member of our community. Together, we can ensure that Riddhi is not left to face these challenges alone.
