This is Melissa's initial post on Kenny III's Car accident.on Thursday Feb. 2
Just reaching out to all to share our current journey.
My son Kenny was involved in a serious car crash last night and sustained a traumatic brain injury. He also has a fracture in his neck (C5 cervical fracture), a fracture in his cheek bone, and a bruised lung from the impact. He was put into a medication induced coma to best treat his head injury.
Wow- writing this out feels so surreal. I was so torn as to how much to share. I know his friends, family, teachers, coaches and community all care so deeply, and for that we, the Kaiser family, are so grateful and I want you to have correct information.
It is going to be a journey for us. Baby steps as his brain is allowed time to heal.
So many folks have been asking to help the Kaiser family defray the cost of gas, medical bills, lost wages, insurance bills etc. It is expected that Kenny III will be in the hospital for a month or so while he heals from his Traumatic Brain Injury. Through therapy, rest, prayers and support from everywhere coming in, Kenny and Melissa allowed me to offer this fundraiser as a way to have help coming in from those who are interested in offering financial assistance.
