We routinely have between 40 and 60 animals, mostly cats and dogs, at our rescue in Kabul, Afghanistan. While we work to find them adopters, we give them comprehensive veterinary care and board them in a home-like environment, with all animals getting lots of playtime and attention every day. We also run a small capacity clinic for pets and injured or ill street animals that get brought to us regularly. Our expenses, including rent and utilities for our facility, food and medicine for the animals, rehoming costs, and salaries for our staff, including full time veterinarians and animal caretakers, typically run between 6,000 and 9,000 US dollars each month. We are able to recoup small amounts through targeted fundraising campaigns for specific animals or equipment, but the bulk of our expenses are still paid out of pocket. This fundraiser is to cover expected expenses for the last two months of 2019, and every donation of any size helps.
