Usborne Books & More and the Erie County Sheriff's Office are thrilled to partner together to run a Cuddle Bear Book Drive!

What is a Cuddle Bear Book Drive? Usborne Books & More has a book and plush set called Cuddle Bear that is all about bringing comfort through hugs. Together, the plush and bear help bring those hugs to life! We are raising funds to purchase at least 100 Cuddle Bear sets so that officers can have them on hand to share with young children who may need comfort or just an act of kindness.

“My Deputies and I appreciate partnerships like these during tragic times. Often, my Deputies respond to an incident where a child is traumatized, and if my Deputies can read to them while the child is squeezing a Cuddle Bear, then we can reduce their stress and help the child. This program will also donate proceeds toward pediatric cancer research. Childhood cancer research is a special cause for me especially after my friend 12-year-old Andrew Masse died from cancer. Please help us comfort children.” -- Sheriff Timothy B. Howard

Each set costs $25, but Usborne Books & More provides a 50% match making your donation dollars go even further.  In addition, Usborne Books & More also donates 5% of each purchase to The Scott Carter Foundation. In 2018, the company was able to present Scott Carter’s family with a check for $25,000 to go towards pediatric cancer research.

Please consider donating to our campaign - every little bit helps! If you donate in the name of a business, a book plate will be added to your donated books. Thank you so much for your support!
