Eliezer Rodrigues C hasn't added a story.
Hello! My name is Eliezer Rodriguez. I am a Venezuelan doctor
living in Colombia. I'm on a medical trip in Matoso, Kenya for a
medical field trip. I am serving as medical project coordinator. I
have paid for my roundtrip airfare from Colombia to Kenya, but I
need to raise money for cost I incur while I'm here. Also, a large
part of this money will be used to continue the orphanage project,
we will make an extension of the bedrooms and also will completely
eliminate the latrines.
I'm looking to raise $5,000 for six months.
Matoso is a small village on the shores of Lake Victoria. My
main task is to educate the clinical and public health staff there.
I will be holding didactic sessions with nurses, lab and pharmacy
techs on a variety of topics and protocols. For example, ensuring
nurses are informed on the latest Kenyan and WHO guidelines for HIV
and malaria treatment. I will also be working with staff regarding
over prescribing and the proper administration of antibiotics.
I will also be working at the Ongoro Children's Home, which
houses 40 children orphaned to AIDS. The home also works with 1,000
children at risk of becoming orphaned because of AIDS. The program
provides food, medical care, blankets, clothing and educational
costs to these children until age 18 so long as they remain in school.
An important part of my focus will be the close to 100 children
who have sickle cell anemia in the village, to ensure their
vaccinations are current, and providing proper care. Proper cervical
cancer screening will also be important for HIV+ women in Matoso.
Finally, I'll be working with delivery nurses and their partograms,
birthing plans, as well as working with pharmacy staff who while
very dedicated, lack formal training.
I know I can make a difference in this village for both patients
and staff. I believe in this work and the importance of it and I am
honored to be able to share my expertise with the team in Matoso.
Please help me to do so.
Hola! Me llamo Eliezer Rodriguez.
Me
desempeño como director médico de proyectos. He pagado mis pasajes
Llevaré a cabo reuniones
