I know it might sound crazy to think someone would actually go hungry to feed wild cats, well it happens more then you might think and i can say I've been there and done that! To think I started out feeding 5 cats in a parking lot of a grocery store and now 3 years later I am feeding 100 cats in 4 different cities. The cost for myself is $75 a day, which is about $2,200 a month and nearly $30,000 a year! I am in many cat groups on facebook and I see the requests for food daily from many and not just here in South Florida and there real are no resources for individuals like myself who pay out of pocket. All the big name pet food companies require you to be a registered 5013c same with a lot of the local companies I've contacted. At the time of writting this I have officially been on a waiting list at chewy.com for 4 months and that's the only place that didn't tell me "sorry can't help". I asked a Walmart manager near me if they would discount a ripped open 3 lb bag of cat food and I got laughed at and told no. I asked publix if they could donate the rotisserie chicken that they throw away by the cart full at the end of every night and i was told NO. So this is my start to helping end the struggle many face and hopefully shed light on the lack of resources for those wanting to do good but get laughed at, those going hungry to feed the starving cats and those who just need help at times but don't dare to ask.
