My name is Uwe Benkel, I am a 57 year old german citizen of Heltersberg/Rhineland Palatinate.

In 1988, I lost some friends in the fatal Airshow crash on Ramstein Air Base. It was very hard to identify them. Also two brothers of my father are still missing in Russia from World War II. So those were the reasons while I started looking for missing crewmembers and soldiers. Since 1989, the group recovered the remains of 140 aircraft including the remains of 51 crewmembers still buried in the ground.

But there are more than 2.000 pilots still buried in the soil all over germany. They are young men, german, american, british and french. They all had parents, sisters, brothers, wives and children. Most of them, still alive, are still waiting for answers and for them to come back home.

This is our mission: To search for them - find them and bring them back home to their families. Lets do everything to write the last page of these family histories. Since we do not get any government support, we have to pay all the costs out of our own earned money. But in these days things are getting more expensive and we can not afford it much longer.

Thats why we do not need your support. Please help contributing to our work. One of the missing pilot could be your familymember. Would‘t you like for him to be back? To have a grave on a cemetery where you can go to and remember?

We also do search for crashsites and invite familymembers to visit them, having presentations, Exhibitions and teching kids at school is also what we do to keep the memories alive. Those young men should never be forgotten. They gave their young lives for their countries and we need to remember them.
