Monday, Aug. 4, the Tillamook City Council approved contributing $40,000 in two equal payments over the next two years to help finance construction of a local bike-skate facility at Goodspeed Park.

The Council, which was following up on its pledge to contribute funds to the project, also issued a challenge to the community to raise an additional $20,000 toward the cost of construction. Paul Wyntergreen, Tillamook city manager, said, of the $40,000, “It will be coming out of our transient room tax funds, which have a line item for council priority capital projects.”
