We are stranded 5,000km away from home. Our airline canceled our tickets. We have no way to go home. We need your help.

We are in dire need to return home immediately to formalize our stay in a country where we won't get murdered for our identities. We need 500 euros/400 pounds/670 US dollars to purchase a ticket that will get us there.

This is just another rock in a road that has been literally hell.

Do you want to hear a holiday from hell? Well, mine was. And so far, still is.

Hi, I’m Jamie and my partner is Callie. We’re both transgender and both come from very very homophobic and transphobic cultures.

My life has been a roller coaster for a year now. I used to live in the UK and my college decided to boot every fucking foreigner by rigging their grades so they apear lower to make more room for local students (regardless of their performance) and I ended up with no diploma. Once I did a complaint with all evidence at hand I was told to frankly fuck off. I got 4 As by the way. But it’s not about that right now.

I ended up in a forced gap year at age 20 with years of college behind me and frankly with no support behind my back and with Callie who moved in with me, because I think we all know about Brazil and its trans murder rates so I don’t think I have to say how risky it is for a trans woman to be there. We were left alone and I couldn’t go back to a homophobic country and I needed to find a job.

I did and I do work and I have no holidays, I work every day, weekends included.

I also have severe depression, anxiety disorder, an eating disorder and many more things to struggle with.

I just want to go home.

I need to go home.

Currently we are stuck in Lisbon. We bought a low-cost flight to Stockholm through TAP many days ago, but once we arrived on the check-in desk our reservation was gone and our money was refunded.

Stranded abroad and needing a flight on the same day, we naturally we go and ask 'OK, how much is the ticket to Stockholm?'

Guess what: thanks to TAP, I need to fish out 600 euros just to go back home because prices went up, all low fares are booked and I already support two people. I can't pay for that myself.

I’m very sorry for asking you for money but I think you understand how it is for queer people and how unsupportive many of their families are. I support myself and Callie with a rigged diploma on my hands and nothing else.

We bought the tickets here on a big sale to see The Kills who have been my light for the past three years and which made me fucking get out of bed when I got all unis refused for this year.

All tickets were bought cheap, but my return was cancelled and now I’m stuck.

Now, you may ask, why was it a holiday from hell?

I got a spirit attached to me last night from a weird late night haunted encounter (all is well now though), I got PTSD and I have tachycardia attacks every day because while we were on holiday one of the landlords kicked us out with two-hours notice and we had to find a place fast. We booked a hotel, but when we arrived there the hotel owner was very aggressive and ended up cornering me in a bathroom and yelling at me for so long that I fainted.

That’s just me giving a brief outline.

I just want to get the fuck out of here and go home. Honestly. Please just get me home.
