Ashlie Hyde hasn't added a story.
On June 11, 1999 my family's whole world was turned upside down. Just 8 days before my brother's 8th birthday and just two days before Father's Day, my step dad, Seth Kirby, left home with his business partner and he never returned home. Since that day my family has been completely heart broken and we've lived day in and day out with no closure. We've had everything taken from us, even our house by the alleged suspects, yet no justice has been served. Not even in the forgery case where they stole the deeds to our home that my step dad built with his own hands and they illegally forged the deeds and sold the house. My step dad was a very good man who wouldn't harm a flea, he worked day in and day out to provide for his family and to give back to people who needed it most. He taught me to always to be kind hearted and remember everyone we meet has a story to tell. I remember when I was just 14 years old we were on our way to the hospital to see my baby cousin who was battling heart complications, he was born with holes in his heart, and while on our way we passed a woman and young boy who were broken down on the side of the road. No thinking anything else of it once we got to the hospital, my step dad told my mom he'd be back. He left and when he returned he had the young boy and the woman with him we passed on then interstate that was broken down. They were living out of their car and were headed to Florida to try to make a better life when their car broke down. My step dad gave the single mother and her young son enough money for a cab, a hotel room, dinner and he told them he would be back the next day. Well, sure enough, the very next day he went back with a car from his car lot and enough money for them to make it to Florida to their family. He was that kind of guy. Why someone would want to hurt him or take him away from his family makes no sense at all, except for the fact that they knew he was a kind hearted man and they had taken advantage of him until their greed got out control and then they killed him to finish taking what he had. Including my little brothers best friend, my momma's husband of 15 years and the most loving second dad a girl could ever ask for. He made my family strong and he kept us together. He was a very simple man and family was all that mattered to him. Since his disappearance exactly 15 years ago there has been a void in my heart that no-one could ever fill and I know that there are people in this small town that know what happened to him and money would make their tight lips talk and reveal what happened and where he is. I've written articles which have been featured in the local newspaper, but his case had now gone completely cold. The lead investigator over his missing person case has retired and I still keep in contact with him regularly. He really wanted to find my step dad and he worked day in and day out to bring justice. Just recently he gave me info to get in touch with the new lead investigator and told me how to go about trying to get the case opened back up. The new investigator promised me the world and said he would have a detective on the case after the weekend was over, but to this day I'm still waiting. I just want to be abe to bring justice, peace of mind, and closure to my family and most of all, give the man who raised me a final resting place. A place where I can go visit and leave flowers and just sit and talk and know he is there with me. My family deserves this after all that has been taken over the last 15 years. Please help ms raise the money to fund a reward and lease a billboard with his picture and the reward ad. This would mean so much to my mom, my little brother and myself. And it would be a great Father's Day gift for a man who have his all to the people around him. Who believed in helping everyone and loving everyone. Who taught me as a child to never give up and to always believe in my dream. Well now my dream is raising my own children the way he raised me and to bring closure to this case. I thank you so much for your prayers, contributions and any support to help my family heal. Always remember to hug your loved ones when they walk out your door and never forget to tell them you care. We seem to think they'll always be around and that it's ok to kill time or take it for granted, but that's not the case at all. None of us are promised tomorrow. All we have is now. God bless.
