Actors, Models and Talent for Christ (AMTC) is a non-profit ministry whose mission is to expose the world to Christ through the entertainment industry. Each year, they hold auditions all around the country searching for actors, models, singers, and other talent who have the potential to go into the mission field of entertainment and spread God’s love. Those who excel in their auditions are called back to perform at AMTC’s biannual talent convention, SHINE, which is held in Orlando, Florida. SHINE is scouted by 50-100 leading agents, managers, casting directors and music professionals from mainstream and Christian media. On January 25, 2014, Sandile and Nzingha Ashford stepped out in boldness and auditioned. The very next day, they received callbacks for singing, acting, and modeling. With God, and your financial support, they plan to attend the Winter SHINE Convention 2015.

About Sandile Ashford

Sandile Ashford is the oldest of three children who were all blessed with melodic voices and the love of singing. She sang her first solo at the age of 3 and hasn’t turned back since. She attended Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy for Voice/Keyboard, sang in her church choir and praise team, and is a member of her sibling singing group, The Ashford 3, and family singing group, S.T.A.N.D. She has traveled the U.S. as well as the European countries of Italy and Montenegro singing soprano with the Howard Gospel Choir, of which she is currently a member. She has always excelled academically, graduating as the Salutatorian of her high school class, and graduating Summa Cum Laude from Howard University. Sandile’s commitment to community service is demonstrated through mentoring urban girls. Most importantly, Sandile LOVES Jesus Christ and has no bigger dream than to use her gifts for the Lord.

About Nzingha Ashford

Nzingha Ashford is the youngest of three children who were all blessed with gifted voices. She would always watch her older sister and brother sing as a young child. It seemed as though overnight, God placed a beautiful tone in Nzingha’s voice. She has been singing ever since. Nzingha is a member of two family singing groups: The Ashford 3 and S.T.A.N.D., and has been a member of the NAACP ACT-SO Jazz Ensemble. She was honored to compete in a national ACT-So competition in Los Angeles, California during the summer of 2011. Nzingha has done background vocals for artists like Crystal Aiken, Sunday’s Best season one winner, and has been sought after to sing background vocals on local artist’s albums. She also sings at weddings and funerals, and is currently an alto in the Howard Gospel Choir. Nzingha has always been a woman of excellence. She graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class. She is currently attending Howard University on a full tuition and fees scholarship, majoring in Musical Theatre. Film and theatre acting are passions Nzingha has had since she was ten years old. As a young community role model, Nzingha has spoken with youth at local schools, banquet and church events. She stands up for Christ and she continues to cultivate her talents, while waiting with great expectation for God to open doors that will allow her to shine her light for Christ.

The invitation to participate in the SHINE convention is a huge honor for both Sandile and Nzingha. The cost of the entire program has presented a minor roadblock yet, Philippians 4:19 states, “But my God will provide all my need, according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Knowing this, these two ladies have taken a leap of faith and registered for the SHINE convention. In a world filled with reckless actors and raunchy singers, it’s time to put God on center stage through Christian role models working to save  His lost souls. To do this, Sandile and Nzingha are asking for donations to help fund their participation in AMTC. To be a part of AMTC, Sandile and Nzingha must raise $15,000. This includes the Bridge Training Program, 2 practice weekends in NY, a professional NY photo shoot, pre-SHINE dress rehearsal, the 6-day SHINE Convention, travel, lodging, and meals.
