Learn about the school and students at tashi.school

I am raising money for a computer lab for Tashi Orphan Boarding School in Kathmandu, Nepal. The school is for orphaned and underprivileged Tibetan children. The students do not currently have access to even one computer at school.

I am a student studying at Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu and I began teaching English as a volunteer at the school in December of 2012. Never have I met a more amazing group of kids. The experience has changed my life forever. I have no doubt that I have learned more from them than I could ever teach them.

This fundraiser is a way for me to show my appreciation. I am living half way across the world and the school is my family here in Nepal. The love they show me every time I visit cannot be expressed in words.

The school is funded entirely by private donations. Of course there are many pressing needs financially, but I feel like a computer lab would be most beneficial  for the students academically. The kids are all very appreciative of the fact they are getting an education and are very dedicated students. They do not, however, have all the resources to reach their full potential.

The money raised will go to setting up a computer lab for the students and properly maintain it. There are over 100 students at the school and the goal is to raise enough money for 15 computers, installation, internet access, maintenance, and a backup power supply (Nepal has many hours of power outage each day due to a lack of electricity).
