16 year old Midlothian resident and Life scout Noah Strickler is on a mission to better his community. An avid outdoorsman, Noah wants to share his love and knowledge of nature with local area residents. Noah has taken it upon himself to design, fabricate, and install, several interactive trail-signs around the Swift Creek Reservoir; in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Noah’s design features a prism-shaped rotating display. The rugged construction is made of powder-coated steel which will not rust. Each trail sign features 3 Phenolic-printed plates, featuring a different animal. Phenolic plates are printed completely through the material. This makes them vandal resistant, UV and weather resistant, and will endure for years. Each sign will have 1 mammal, 1 reptile, and 1 bird that a resident is likely to encounter around the 1700 acre lake.

Noah’s signs feature an exciting and unique interactive component. Each plate has a Q-R code which when scanned from any web-enabled device (like an iPhone or android) will link to the Woodlake Community Association. Here, website visitors have the opportunity to learn even more about the fascinating creatures that inhabit the lake and surrounding areas.

Noah hopes that through education individuals will come to appreciate wildlife as much as he does; and thus be more conservation-minded in their daily lives.

He already has the display frames ready to go, and the phenolic plates will be delivered soon so please help out with any donation that you can. No amount is too small. Every little bit will further Noah's goal to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, and educate his community about the amazing critters that live in their back-yards.

All donations are tax deductible - a receipt for tax purposes is available if needed.
